UPM Students must know!

UPM STUDENTS MUST KNOW!

1) Matric Card 

Matrix Card is an identity card for UPM students. Students have to show matric card to take UPM bus services, enter library and also for enter the final exam hall.  There is a student ID number (matrix number) which every student has to remember it. Students use it to log in e-smp, lms and also hotspot UPM.

2) e-SMP : Sistem Maklumat Pelajar (UPM)  

www.smp.upm.edu.my 

Every UPM students will have their own personal academic account. SMP is for students to register their course. Besides that, students can refer SMP for their class timetable and examination timetable. Assessment result for current semester and examination result also are shown in SMP.

*The default number id will be Matric card no and password will be your I.C no :)

3） Learning Management System (LMS) 

www.lms.upm.edu.my

Students can easily get their lecture note through this website. Lecturer used to upload all the notes so that students can do revision before the lecture start. Besides, it is also a platform where students can interact with lecturer. 

4) Meal Plan 

First-year students will have a meal plan card (calculated in tuition inside).  Students can use meal plan to buy food at Food Court UPM (Putra food court, serumpun food court and more) and also parkview cafeteria.

*First year students are compulsory to top-up meal plan for 2 semester which is around RM400 per semester (included in your tuition fee)

5) WiFi service in UPM

The WiFi service in UPM is called Uspot which a 100 Mbps wireless network in UPM. Students is required to register when first use on it.

6) PA: Penasihat Akedemic 

Every student will have a PA. Students can refer PA when facing any academic problem. When come to the registration courses for new semester, we have to refer our PA to activate our smp account. (You guys will sure know it is very important when come to registration courses :p )

Facilities at University Putra Malaysia

Facilities

1. Pusat Kesihatan Universiti (PKU)

PKU is located opposite Putra Food court. Students can bring along matrix card to have free medical treatment. PKU provides Medical services, Dentistry and Health Screening for the citizens of UPM campus consisting of staff and students. Besides, PKU also provides emergency line that operates 24 hours. 2. Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad

Photo above is the main library located at main campus. Besides main campus, there are four branches Medicine and Health Sciences Library, Library of Veterinary Medicine, Engineering & Architecture Library and Campus Library Bintulu (Sarawak).  For the main library, it consists 2 blocks: Block A and Block B. Facilities at PSAS include Electronic Reference Room, consists 80 computers for users, wireless internet, discussion rooms, prayer room, lockers, photocopying and computer printing service. Students have to bring along Matrix card only can enter library and borrow reference book.

3. Bank and Post Office 

a) CIMB Bank

CIMB Bank is located at Bangunan Pentadbiran which is just beside Parkview cafeteria. Students who stay at kolej lembah (KC, K6, K2, KOSSAS, K5 and KTDI) can just walk through the football field (in front KC). After pass by the abandoned KMR, just walk through white footbridge, you will see the signs of CIMB at your right hand side.  If you are coming from main UPM gate, after pass through Fac. Sains Komputer (red and gray building) and Dewan Besar (blue plus white building), turn left and go straight at the T-junction after Bangunan Pentadbiran. The CIMB Bank will be at your left hand side. Operation hours:  Monday-Friday (9.15 a.m – 4.30 p.m)

b) Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) 

BSN is located near the abandoned KMR. 

c) Automated Teller Machine (ATM)

ATM is located at CIMB Bank and also Food court Kolej Serumpun.  At food court Kolej Serumpun, there is ATM for Agrobank, Maybank and more.

d) Post Office

Post Office is located near the abandoned KMR.

4. Hall

i) Dewan Besar-Pusat Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (PKKSSAAS)

It is the biggest hall in UPM.  Most major event will be held here, example orientation week.

ii) Panggung Percubaan

It is located opposite Fac. Ekonomi dan Pengurusan (FEP).

iii) Banquet Hall

Banquet Hall is located opposite stadium. This hall is managed by a subsidiary of UPM Holdings Sdn Bhd, which is UPM Consultancy & Services Sdn Bhd. It can accommodate up to 2000 guests.

iv) Other

5. Mosque

UPM mosque equipped LCD for visual display and text translation sermon (terjemahan teks khutbah.). UPM's mosque is the center of spiritual services and religious activities to students, staff and the surrounding community. For more details kindly refer: http://www.pic.upm.edu.my/

6. Old flat/ Flat ikan

This area is located outside academic area of UPM.  Students just have to drop by at bus stop Fac. Sains dan Teknologi Makanan and Fac. Pengajian Alam Sekitar. There is a door beside Fac. Pengajian Alam Sekitar. Students just walk towards the door then will reach old flat/flat ikan. At old flat, there are many computer printing and photocopy shop, grocery shop, mamak stalls, affordable miscellaneous food stalls, noodle stalls and so on. Normally students like to have their lunch over there. 

 

7. Sports Equipment

i) Swimming Pool

UPM has an Olympic-size swimming pool.  It is located beside Fac. Pendidikan. Photos below show the swimming pool payment fees and the operation schedule.

ii)Golf

iii) Tennis Court

iv) Sport Centre

Sport complex consisting of a main stadium for track and field events, multipurpose hall for a variety of event including squash, netball, sepak takraw, volleyball, basketball and a variety of sports.

8) Leisure and Recreation 

i) Equestrian Park

Equine park located next SILK highway and the new complex of the Faculty of Agriculture and dealing with Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten). ii) Bukit Ekspo

There are runways, orchards and beautiful lake; you can come here to picnic, jogging, do activities.
